I just spent the last hour reading over my blog and looking at the pics and crying. I am sad that I havent stayed up on this. I am really going to try. Dumb facebook is just quicker but this is much easier to go into detail and more personal. This is basically my scapbook/journal/whatever. the question do I go back or just forward? i really dont want to loose the last 5-6 months of our lives but also dont want to be overwhelmed? Christmas 2010!

In the middle of Christmas morning Maycie got tired of opening presents and wanted to play with her new toys. She threw a fit and yelled "I'm not opening ANY MORE PRESENTS" and went about her business playing with her new stuff until she saw Tayson open a pillow pet. Now she was very sad and cried "but I didn't get a pillow pet" We handed her a gift to open and behold a PILLOW PET! She was back in the game of opening gifts. I wanted to make the present opening part last but apparently it was a little too much for my little 3 year old. My favorite present was the portable DVD players for the car that santa brought the kids(but I think it was more for my sanity :). Maycie's favorite was a deluxe set of Barbie Princess's, Tayson's favorite was a glow in the dark drawing board and his science kit.

My baby turned SIX! Tayson's birthday party is a little hard to coordinate with all the holiday stuff going on but we had a great Pirate Party with all of his buds. There were all kind of games treats and surprises! I can't believe Tayson is 6 years old. He is ridiculously smart and it blows my mind. He loves school. Tayson is great at making friends with anyone and everyone. He likes to draw pictures and have art sales instead of lemonade sales. He definitely comes from a family of attorneys cause this boy can argue and talk his way in or out of any situation. Once Tayson's mind is made up its VERY difficult to try to convince him of any other options. He needs to understand when why how and why again. Oh and he NEVER runs out of energy.

Sept 19th Maycie turned 3! We had a big princess party with all her cousins and friends(it was really a cousin fall part that doubled as Maycie's birthday party) There were blow up houses presents cake and costumes! pics cannot be located at this time but I will find them. Her favorite present was from me of course it was her cuddly puppy Rosy who came in a purse! Maycie is the perfect combination of sugar and spice. Her personality cracks me up daily. She knows when and how to be a little sweetie and she is also very good at knowing when she can get away with being alot sassy! She spends most of her days trying to keep up with her big brother and asking everyone in site if she can play with play dough.

I went to JB with my friend Alecia and it was awesome. That kid is so flippin cute and such a good preformer. We had great seats and there were about a billion people there. It took about a month for my ears to stop ringing from all the screaming(mostly coming from my)

Since its almost time for school to start again I guess I will post about Tayson's preschool graduation. I really have no idea where his creepy smile came from maybe he was nervous? The first pic is Tayson and his two great teachers Ms. Lynn and Ms. Sylvia. Tayson learned so much this year thanks to them both, he has even started reading. Back in May we were lucky enough to go to Cancun! It was the best trip. We pretty much ate our hearts out, laid on the beach, ate some more, swam a little, and then ate again, every day. With a little shopping here and there of course. Mike thinks we got lost in scary Mexico for a while but I'm pretty sure we didn't. We missed the kids like crazy but it was nice to have some alone time with just the two us.

These three are my favorite people on earth.

-Mike- is one of the hardest working people I know. Sometimes I'm not sure he even knows how to relax. He is also my best friend and the person I trust most in the world. I love that I don't feel afraid to tell him how I am feeling, even when I don't feel the way I am "supposed" to feel. He loves me even when I am a big huge brat and he is also not afraid to tell me when I am being a big huge brat.

-Tayson- This kid always has something to say. Always. When his mind is made up about something there is almost now way of convincing him it could be any other way. He is so smart and loves to learn. He amazes me everyday by the things he learns, the words he knows and the way his mind works. Tayson loves being a big brother to Maycie. He is so active and both of us cannot wait til the weather is nice enough for him to be able to go run circles outside.

-Maycie- What can I say about Maycie? She is like a tornado. If she has ever been at your house you understand what I mean. She can tear apart a house in about 10 seconds. She basically always is a mess even if she just had a bath. She is a daredevil and I predict she will have many future injuries. But she is also the sweatest thing and can brighten up your day with one little look, kiss or RIBBIT(post to come).

I love these guys and feel so lucky that I get to spend each day with them.

Maycie Mayc had a lil accident today. I got a call at work from Mike at about 10:30 and all I heard was Maycie screaming and Mike say "Maycie is hurt come home BYE". Instant panic set in and I was home in about 3 seconds to find that Maycie had walked behind her brother while he was swinging and been knocked down HARD. We thought she may be ok and just need a love but then she started saying that she was tired and that she wanted to go to bed. When we heard that we took her straight to her Doc. Turns out she probably had a small concussion and she has one heck of a black eye but she is doing fine. It did make her sad when her cousin Shiloh saw her and ran away saying "scary Maycie, scary Maycie".

Tayson had his first experience with anesthesia. He needed
some dental work done and had to be put out.
Everything went great but it was very scary for me as his
mom. He though it was pretty cool to have a spiderweb in
his mouth(the stitches).

Pioneer Woman makes dinner at our house much more enjoyable! I have never made anything from her blog that hasn't been absolutely delicious. My sister and I went to her book signing along with billions of other Utah women. We were crazy enough to wait 3 hours to get out cookbooks signed. Luckily my sisters house was close to the signing so we just went there rather then wait in the cold.
She was super nice even though it took a long time to take my pic cause Lisa had the camera on video and took her a while to figure out it was recording and not taking pics. Thanks Lis for being a crazy utah stalker girl with me for a night.

Girls Vegas Trip!!

I Did it!!

I have no pictures only a video of me finishing(will hook it up later) but I ran Hobble Creek Half Yesterday in one hour and fifty minutes!!!! I almost decided not to run because when Mike's work schedule got so crazy we basically stopped training but at about three on Friday afternoon I decided I for sure was going to do it. My night before race meal was three hot dogs and a bowl of cereal I'm pretty sure that third hot dog is what helped me cross the finish line! I also got to run with my cousin Jess the first few miles which was so fun!

Right after the race I had to hurry and shower so we could go to the Monster Truck Rally which was sweet! Right after that we hurried off to our Trace Adkins and Toby Keith Concert that was so so fun. I will post pictures later when I can walk to get my camera!

Thanks to Mike and the kids for coming to watch me finish!

So my sister turned me on to this show and of course like any other reality show I see I became addicted. Well I made the Four Step Chicken and the Individual Gratin Potatoes from the finale and they were so delicious. I can't even tell you how good and my whole family loved it. It was so easy to make too!

Flexible 4-Step Chicken for Family and Company - Rustic Lemon-Onion Chicken

* 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, sliced in half crossways (butterflied, cut all the way through)
* 1 teaspoon dried thyme, plus 1 small bunch fresh thyme, leaves chopped
* Salt and freshly ground black pepper
* 4 tablespoons olive oil
* 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 red onion, thinly sliced
* 1/4 cup white wine, optional
* 1 cup chicken broth
* 3 lemons, juiced
* 1 to 2 tablespoons butter
* Spinach "bed", recipe follows

Directions

Season chicken with dried thyme and salt and pepper. Heat a large saute pan over medium heat and add the oil. Dredge the chicken in flour, add to the hot oil and saute until cooked through. Set chicken aside to rest on plate tented with foil.

In same saute pan, over low heat, add onions and fresh thyme and cook until aromatic.

In a measuring cup, measure out wine, if using, and broth, and add the lemon juice. Turn the heat up to high, and deglaze the pan with the broth mixture until starting to reduce.

Remove the pan from the heat and finish the sauce by whisking in butter. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Place a bed of cooked spinach on a serving platter, top with the chicken. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and serve.

Spinach "bed": I didn't make this but I bet it would be great with the meal.

* 1 bag pre-washed fresh spinach
* 3 tablespoons water
* 1 tablespoon butter
* 1 lemon, juiced
* Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Microwave spinach in a microwave-proof dish with a few tablespoons of water on high for 5 to 6 minutes, or until hot. Drain, and toss with butter, lemon juice, and salt and pepper, to taste.

5-Minute Individual Potato Gratins

* Vegetable spray
* 2 large russet potatoes, roughly peeled and thinly sliced
* 1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese
* 2 green onions, finely chopped
* Salt and freshly ground black pepper
* 3/4 cup heavy cream
I also added a little bit of cheddar to the mix!

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Spray 8 muffin tins with vegetable spray. Layer potato slices, cheese, and onions into each muffin cup. Season with salt and pepper and top each gratin with 1 or 2 tablespoons of heavy cream. Cover with foil and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, removing the foil halfway through cooking time. Invert gratins onto plate and serve.

Letting Go

Has there ever been someone in your life who seems to always let you down? The kind of person who you really really want to change and so over and over again you put your trust in them and you give them just "one more chance" and every single time they let your down? And each time they let you down it seems to hurt more and more and it actually makes you feel pretty stupid for trusting them again? I had someone like this in my life and I use to blame myself for being so stupid to trust them and for believing what they were telling me. Well I have finally given up on them. I guess that is not a very good term since we are not supposed to "give up" unless its a bad habit which I believe in this situation it was. I will say that I have finally let go. I know lots of people say "I don't care anymore, I'm over it". Well, I really don't care anymore and its like I just feel a sense of freedom like I don't have to care anymore. So, if you have someone like this in your life I strongly suggest maybe not "giving up on them" but just "letting go"! Hope you all have a great 24TH!!

I stole these pics of my cousins blog for two reasons.
1. I am at work and cannot access my pictures
2. I have no pictures from the 4th because Maycie hid my camera battery charger and my camera was dead. Thanks Jess!
So the 4th was quite busy. On friday we got early to go see the hot air balloons. Tase loved and Maycie was shaking with fear everytime they blew the fire. After the balloons we went to breakfast at Callies MMMM! Yummy! Then a fam party at with Mike's family and the kids did sparklers and loved it. Saturday started off with gandalfo's at the parade. Tase made his own shirt and we all were dressed up quite festive. I love dressing up for any occasion. We then went to 7Peaks with my moms whole family which was so much fun. I had to work that night at Chili's but ended up getting off early cause guess what, noone wants to go out to eat after dark on the 4th of July Weird huh?!? So we went to the park and watched fireworks with my mom, Mike's mom and sister and the kiddies! It was such a fun day!

My sister is the most caring person I know. You will never meet anyone who is so concerned with the well being of others. Lisa can always find something good about the worst person or situation. She is an amazing sister and mother. I have no idea how she always keeps it so together. She works full time, is a full time student, and the best mom ever oh yeah not to mention her house is always perfectly beautiful-unless Chris has been home for the day:) and she is always happy to whip up something yummy for someone hungry. I just wish I lived in Salt Lake so we could show up at her house around dinner time everyday. I don't know what I would do without my only sister. She has always stuck by me and never even come close to giving up on me. I will always look up to my sister and strive to follow her example. I hope you have the best birthday ever Lis!!!!

My little brother graduated from Orem High last Thursday. Great job Lane! Yes, that is my daughter with her finger in her nose. It has been her new favorite thing ever since she discovered that her finger is the perfect size to fit in her nose she just sticks it in there likes to just hang out with her finger in her nose. Disneyland was a little crowded. I would have been happy to just spend the week at the beach but Tayson was in heaven. I love the picture of him staring up at Goofy. He loved the rides he was not scared of any of them I had no idea he was going the love the roller coasters so much. One ride he was barely a quarter inch too short so we took of his socks and rolled them up in his shoes and he was so excited to be able to go. There was a race car ride where they give you a "drivers license" and I have always told Tayson he can't drive my car cause he doesn't have his license and now he is convinced he can drive my car it has been a bit of a battle.

SeaWorld was a great day except that right when we got there at about nine when it was still a little chilly we went to see the Dolphins and they thought it would be funny to splash Shiloh and Tayson- they got soaked and for the rest of the day they were worried about getting splashed which is pretty much what everything at SeaWorld is about.

Back in APRIL(I know I am awsome at updating my blog promptly) Tayson and I went to California and we had SO much fun. There was ALOT of driving and Shiloh and Tayson did get a little agitated with the car and each other by the end of the week. Tayson absolutely loved the beach. I can totally picture him growing up and being some type of beach bum(I know high expectations coming from his mother.)

I sprained my ankle pretty bad and have had to take a break from training for the big race. Tayson was chasing me and I tripped over a metal hammock frame that came out of nowhere. Stupid- but thanks to my dad his friend from the BYU Athletic Department it has been healing very quickly.

This is what I was doing on Sunday (kinda) until I started crashing. I either broke or really really bruised my tailbone and kinked the heck out of my neck and now I can barely move. I tried to go to the gym this morning and I couldn't do anything without it hurting either my butt, my neck or both. I guess that is what I get for going boarding on a Sunday.

Cookie Cutters!

I highly recommend this place. Maycie HATES having her hair done but at cookie cutters the let her pick out a movie, choose her favorite car to sit in and then they were blowing bubbles the whole time. She didn't even know she was getting a hair cut. She even let them round brush her hair and now she has cute bangs like her mama!

They also had things to keep Tayson(and Mike) entertained during the hair cut.

We will for sure be returning to Cookie Cutters in the future!

Maycie finally walked! She did it for the first time Sunday night and I missed it. She was home with Mike and he said she took 7 steps I was really bummed until this morning she just stood herself up and took three very STIFF steps, fell, tried to do it again and face planted. It was so cute though and I am very proud of her. She has been on her own time schedule since even before she was born, first she was two days late being born(UGH!), then she didn't roll over till about 8 or 9 months and now at 14 months she is just beginning to explore the option of walking!

Softball Tournament

My work had a softball tournament. I was a little nervous about playing cause it's been a while but I had so much fun and we got 4th place. Thanks Lis for coming to watch and for watching the kids!

Tim Mcgraw!!

I went to Tim Mcgraw last night with Jess and her sister and a bunch of other girls. It was so much fun and there was perfect weather! Except the concert was supposed to start at 7:30 and Tim didn't even show until like 9:30.

Stewart Falls(we thought)

The four of us decided to hike Stewart Falls but took the wrong path. We still found some falls though. It was a little long for Tayson I think expecially since he crashed and burned before we even started but he made it with a couple piggy backs here are there.

I would say Mesquite could for sure be defined as the Vegas for G-ma's and G-pa's but I had a blast and I also came back $250.00 richer! My awsome sister and brother in-law watched the kids so it was just me and Mike for a whole 5 days! We went running together, ate, golfed, ate, went to the pool, ate, saw sex and the city, ate, shopped, ate, gambled, ate, slept in, did I mention we ate alot!?!?

Buffets probably my 3rd favorite thing in the world ( I take after my dad on that one). We hit the buffets atleast twice everyday and trust me I ate my $9.50 worth every time (hence the baggy shirt)!

Tayson has got a Piggy Bank and a Mason Jar that he puts his money in to save for his mission. Well last night we put the kids to bed early(or so we though) so we could finish a movie we started on sunday night. Well about 15 minutes in we heard some noises when we went to check we found Tayson who had snuk into my purse to get my wallet and completely emptied it! It just happened that I had a bunch of cash in my wallet that day and Tayson ended up with a $100.00 bill in his piggy bank. Let me just tell you it was very hard not to laugh at the situation I wish I would have taken a picture he looked so funny stuffing all this cash into his little bank, but I didn't want him to think it was an ok thing to do.

Is what I found when I got home from work this weekend. Apparently Maycie's BRAND NEW top that she was wearing for the very first time was a little snug and tricky to get off so Mike decided he better just cut and rip it instead figuring out how to take it off?!?!

I am so sorry I have been such a slacker towards blogging. Life has gotten a little more busy because I have started school and work but I am trying to figure out this new schedule and hopefully will be able to get back to my blogging addictions soon!

Swimming Lessons

I was very disappointed in our first swimming lesson. I decided to do them early at the REC center so by summer Tayson would have some swimming skills, of course Tayson had a blast but I also signed up to do them with Maycie and the water was freezing plus our instructor didnt even do anything besides pass out a few toys for the babies so it was pretty much just me playing with Maycie in the freezing pool for thirty minutes. I can do that for a lot cheaper anytime in a warm pool. WTC!

This started out with me trimming Tayson's sideburns. Somebody got a little carried away for the first time it wasn't me.
